About WUW
The story of World of Unpredictable Wrestling — Brooklyn’s home of professional wrestling, founded by WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz.
Our Story
World of Unpredictable Wrestling was founded by Johnny Rodz — born José Rodriguez — a Brooklyn native whose career in professional wrestling spanned four decades. After competing on the MSG circuit and throughout the WWF, Rodz turned his attention to building the next generation of professional wrestlers.
The school has called Gleason’s Gym home for years — located at 130 Water Street in Brooklyn, directly under the Brooklyn Bridge. Gleason’s is one of the most storied athletic training facilities in the world, having produced world champions in boxing, martial arts, and wrestling.
WUW has trained over 400 professional wrestlers who have gone on to compete in WWE, NXT, AEW, Impact, ROH, and independent promotions worldwide. The WUW family — known as “Da Wheel” — is a brotherhood and sisterhood that supports each other throughout their careers.
